IDB will sign a collaboration agreement with a market leading company (IDB’s Partner Institution), Lima, Peru, dedicated to free and fair competition, balance in consumer relations, respect for and promotion of intellectual property, for the benefit of society and the country, through transparent, timely, and predictable institutional action. Based on this collaboration agreement, technical support will be provided to contribute to the implementation of its innovation project (Project), which aims to implement an AI-based model that allows for the classification of a large amount of data (structured and non-structure), facilitating the identification of possible violations of regulations or other relevant criteria. For this technical support, PTI/CTI is looking for Data Scientist Consultant, with knowledge and experience in the design, development, and testing of projects involving large-scale datasets.
[What you’ll do]
In close communication and coordination with the PTI/CTI Specialist (Supervisor) in the respective IDB Country Office, the KTC will:
• Provide technical and/or technological support for the preparation, implementation and/or monitoring of initiatives tailored to the specific business need of the IDB’s Partner Institution under its innovation agenda; and
• Perform supportive tasks on the coordination of relevant organizations and/or involved contractors under the guidance and in close coordination with the Supervisor and Project’s team leader.
Specifically, under the framework of the collaboration agreement with the IDB’s Partner Institution, and the guidance of Project’s team leader, the KTC is expected to provide technical support to contribute to:
• Participate in the design and development of AI projects, focusing on the application of machine learning and data classification techniques.
• Process and analyze large datasets ensuring data quality, relevance, and preprocessing for model training.
• Test and validate AI models and tools, ensuring their functionality, accuracy, and alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct technical assessments and data analysis, identifying problems and proposing evidence-based, scalable solutions.
• Engage with internal teams and external stakeholders, translating technical concepts and aligning development with user needs and institutional goals.
• Deliver training sessions to public officials and staff, enabling effective use and adoption of AI tools within their workflows.
• Provide ongoing technical support during implementation, ensuring the reliable operation, integration, and maintenance of developed AI systems.
• Other related activities as requested and agreed with the Supervisor.
